  • 2 hours without phone = $27 poorer

    03:55:08 pm on March 10, 2007

So last night Jen, Jessica, Ang, Dave, Sean and I went to a Winterhawks hockey game. After getting in, and being committed to 2 hours without my phone on, I headed over to the ATM and grab some cash. Looking at the receipt, it appears that I am now overdrawn…

Wups, I guess I forgot to transfer some money, or one of those checks for the subcontractors working on my house cleared. Or maybe it’s just because I haven’t been paying attention for the last month or so. Whatever.

Being the stick-to-what-you-say type that I am, I refuse to turn on the phone and call the bank to transfer money to clear the balance, and this little overdraft cost me $27.

Seriously though, what a crock! $27 for this - it’s kind of ridiculous, especially considering I have money in my other accounts at the bank.

$27 is a bit much - of course they did cover you arse. A nice feature would be to not ding you so hard if you have enuff to cover via the accts at that bank like you suggested.

This is why I love First Tech Credit Union, they would have automatically transferred the money from my savings, and if worse came to worse charged it to my credit card that I have with them.

I’ve also got all sorts of auto payments set up with them. I hate OnPoint and all the other banks blow too.

SO, it was a Winterhawks game that was breaking up on Saturday night. I was leaving Harvey’s Comedy Club trying to get on I-5 by the Rose Garden and it was total chaos about 9:45pm.

I did intentionally set it so it wouldn’t come from my savings account. Partially because they still charge (like $20 I think) and partially because if someone ever got ahold of my debit card, they might be able to deplete my savings account too. Call me paranoid, but I like keeping my money where it is.
