I spied the actor Ethan Hoyt (starring in the next Spielburg film) getting a recharge at the O2 bar in Vegas while waiting for a delayed flight.

Topdeq has some pretty cool, modern office furniture and stuff. If I can afford it and I’m making good money, I may buy something when the house remodel is done.

I especially like the Modul and Carve lines.

What’s the point in buying a movie anymore? First, many can be downloaded free online, although that’s considered unethical/illegal. Second choice: rent them.

If you rent movies, you won’t have all that plastic packaging to toss (if you throw it away) and you won’t be supporting a one-time use production of materials that here in America is so prevalent.

Other reasons you might consider renting instead of buying:
- You can copy them if you like, using your computer.
- You probably won’t watch the same movie more than a few times, and you get much more bang-for-your-buck from renting
- If you use Netflix, there are no late fees, and they’re delivered to your door and you re-use the envelope to send it back.

This weekend we got the hole opened up where the inside stairs used to be, in the PDX Trump Tower. By “we” I mean Noel, who did the work.

As with all remodel jobs, when you get into something structural, there’s always some complications that you end up finding when you open up stuff. It’s nothing huge, but the floor on the landing needs some work to facilitate moving the stairs at the bottom down a bit for headroom clearance.
