Google Blogs Not Immune to Trackback Spam

Even Google isn’t immune to blog spam. Check out this post about their new Analytics features.

I counted 12 trackbacks that had nothing to do with the subject of this post, and none of them had a trackback link. Looks like some clever spammer has figured out how to use blogspot and Google’s blogs to get their own links.
Are Google’s authors of a post not notified and not watching the links that are being added? I know some people keep Google on a pedestal, but this makes me remember that they’re just a group of people who also have their shortcomings and their programs aren’t perfect. It is possible for even Google to screw something up. This just helps me to remember that it’s only worth building web sites for people and not for Google / SEO. Make it sustainable so people love it.
