As a consumer in the software world, nothing makes me happier than when the software you are using checks to see if you need to update to a new version so you don’t have to check repeatedly or sign up for some dumb email notification list that no doubt comes tied to a marketing list.
But, shouldn’t these notifications be checking what the current version you’re using is before letting you know there is a new version available, and if it’s the same version then just leave you alone? Not everyone seems to think so…
