Thinking About the Next Vacation

It’s starting to get about that time that I am going stir-crazy being in town again. I love Portland in the summer time but I am dreading the fall/winter time coming up fast. It probably doesn’t help that Mike & Rusty just went down to visit Ty in Mexico and that I couldn’t make the trip - I wish I would have but I’ll have to wait for next time I guess.
So I’m trying to figure out what sounds like fun, and yet is reasonably priced on the budget. Ray suggested Thailand which would be fun, but kind of a long way. I’m kind of liking the idea of heading to Mexico, then on down to Costa Rica, Nicaragua and El Salvador. Flights to Costa Rica or Mexico seem like they would be a lot cheaper than Thailand too and a whole lot closer. No idea what the hotels down there would cost tough.
Or, I could do something a bit more traditional and head to Hawaii again and stay at my friend’s Maui vacation home rental or maybe go check out Big Island Hawaii which would be new and different. I was in Kauai last year, and been to Oahu a bunch of times when I was younger so seeing what Maui is all about would be fun too. Then, there’s always the option of a quick getaway at Cannon Beach and staying in one of those quaint little hotels.
Ah, the choices. Just thinking about the options is 1/2 the fun. Paying for the actual trip, not so much.
